The Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Student Conference is held annually in March to celebrate Women’s History Month.
The primary goal of the conference each year is to provide a forum where students can present their work in women, gender, and sexuality studies and important work with issues of gender, women, and/or sexuality.
The conference features student research and writing in the area of women, gender, and sexuality studies, and provides a unique opportunity for students to come together to share ideas and papers. It is the only forum on campus that features student work from across many different disciplines and perspectives, including literature, history, anthropology, and psychology.
According to Dr. Jennifer Nelson, professor and director of the Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies program, “welcoming students from diverse backgrounds serves as an inspirational and important element of the conference.”
"There are a lot of students who don't major or minor in women, gender, and sexuality studies, but still take courses in the field and do very interesting research,” she said. “We wanted a forum to show off their important work as well.”
