This paper identifies the problem of electronic noise obstructing binary data transmission across a median, and explores solutions to this problem in the form of linear error correcting codes. It covers the following error correcting methods: Parity Method, Triple Repetition Method, Hamming Codes, and Hadamard Codes. The Hamming and Hadamard codes are covered in depth in terms of their derivation and procedure. By the end the reader should have a better understanding of how these codes use linear algebra to account for and fix binary errors due to transmission noise.
