The history of juggling can be traced back to Ancient Egypt and from there, throughout the rest of the world. For the majority of this four thousand year history juggling was considered an art and even a religion in some cultures. It wasn't until as recently as 1985 that individuals began to study the mathematics of juggling sequences. With the help of number theory, graph theory, and group theory it is possible to identify legitimate juggling sequences, create juggling sequences in several ways, and determine special types of sequences.
