The Tropic Regions Test Center (TRTC), an element of the U.S. Army Test and Evaluation Command, routinely tests a variety of equipment and systems in tropical environments to evaluate the suitability of such material for operational missions. Spatial data is an important component in conducting these tests, and is often needed for planning experiment location, layout, and logistics. This paper demonstrates the construction of ArcGIS-based data models for capturing the critical spatial data components of two common research domains. Both models utilize linear referencing to organize spatial data.
