This project demonstrates spatial data integration and analysis within the context of the East Valley COMPASS project. The project focuses on First 5 San Bernardino (also known as the Children and Families Commission for San Bernardino County) as a case study to provide information and showcase the use of Geographic Information Systems in decision making and data sharing to help organizations in the East Valley build healthier and safer communities.
The First 5 School Readiness Initiative was established to facilitate means for families, schools and communities to better prepare children physically, socially, and with cognitional ability to start school ready to succeed. It is designed to promote, support, and improve the early development of children from the prenatal stage to five years of age.
This project identified needs, data sets and sources, processes, and information products to assist First 5 San Bernardino with their School Readiness Initiative.
