About This Journal
JCSI is sponsored by the University of Redland’s School of Education and Armacost Library. Additionally, this journal adheres to the following principles outlined by the Open Access Scholarly Publications Association (OASPA):
- We acknowledge the tradition of both freely giving knowledge to our communities and also the expectation that contributions will be respected and that full credit is given according to scholarly norms.
- The community expects that where a work is reprinted, collected, aggregated or otherwise re-used substantially as a whole that the original source, location and free availability of the original version will be both made explicit and emphasized.
- The community expects that where modifications have been made to an article that this will be made explicit and every practicable effort will be made to make the nature and scope of modifications explicit. Where a derivative is digital all practicable efforts should be made to make comparison with the original version as easy as possible for the user.
- The community assumes that unless noted otherwise authors have not endorsed any republication or modification of their original work. Where authors have explicitly endorsed the republication or modified version this should be made explicit in a way which is separate to the attribution.
Authors publishing with JCSI retain the copyright of their work under the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC-BY). This license allows others to copy, distribute, display, and perform the work, provided that the original work is properly cited. Click here to find out more about our copyright policy.
Peer Reviewed Policy
All research articles in this journal will undergo blind peer review, based on initial editor screening and anonymized refereeing by at least two anonymous referees with expertise in computer science education. Book reviews in this journal undergo an editor-review process.
Manuscripts submitted to JCSI must be original, and not submitted for publication anywhere else. Authors must give assurance that the entire manuscript reports original work. The primary author must affirm that all of the other authors have read and approved of the manuscript.
Policies on Plagiarism
All submissions will be subject to evaluation through the use of a plagiarism detection service.
JCSI calls for proposals occur bi-annually; however, access to online publications is available once an article competes the peer-review and copy-editing cycle. To ensure long-term access, content will be archived in CLOCKSS.
JCSI is indexed in the Directory of Open Access Journals, major library discovery services, Google Scholar, and other major search engines. JCSI follows the OAI protocol to enable the open harvesting of metadata by other search tools.
