This thesis will assess the benefits of and necessity for renewable energy solutions in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) from the environmental science perspective on the one hand and from the business perspective on the other. Three case studies are included to illustrate the various dimensions of the economy and society affected by a transition to a renewable energy structure in CEE countries.
